WANA (Mar 24) – Hebrew-language media have reported the arrest of two Haredi Jewish brothers in East Jerusalem on suspicion of identity fraud and espionage for Iran.

 

According to the Israeli public broadcaster, authorities have filed an indictment against the two brothers, accusing them of “spying for Iran.”

 

The report states that, according to the indictment, the main suspect impersonated a soldier from Unit 8200, using the identity of a young man whose ID card and photograph he allegedly obtained via Telegram.

 

It added that, with the assistance of his brother, the suspect used artificial intelligence software to forge documents and fabricate information, which was then passed on to Iranian intelligence entities.

 

According to the report, the information was specifically transferred to an individual identified as an Iranian operative named “David.”

 

The two brothers allegedly received more than 100,000 shekels (approximately $32,000) in exchange for their actions.
