WANA (Feb 09) – According to the latest rankings released by United World Wrestling (UWW), two Iranian freestyle wrestlers have claimed the No. 1 spots in their respective weight classes.

 

Following the conclusion of the ranking series event in Croatia, the first global freestyle rankings of the new calendar year were announced. In the updated list, Rahman Amouzad leads the 65kg category, while Amirhossein Zare sits at the top of the 125kg heavyweight division.

 

Amouzad secured first place ahead of Japan’s Kotaro Kiyooka and American wrestler Real Woods in one of the sport’s most competitive weight classes. In the heavyweight division, Zare outperformed Shamil Sharipov of Bahrain and Giorgi Meshvildishvili of Azerbaijan to take the top ranking.
