Two Iranians Rank Among World’s Top 30 in Latest FIDE Rankings
WANA (May 03) – The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has released its official rankings for May 2026, highlighting significant achievements for Iranian chess players on the global stage.
World Rankings (Classic)
Two representatives from Iran have secured spots within the world’s top 30 players:
- Amin Tabatabaei: Ranked 28th in the world with a rating of 2714.
- Parham Maghsoodloo: Ranked 30th in the world with a rating of 2710.
At the top of the global standings, Norwegian champion Magnus Carlsen maintains his number one position with a rating of 2840.
World Youth Rankings
Iran’s rising talents also made a strong showing in the youth categories:
- Bardia Daneshvar: Ranked 16th globally.
- Sina Movahed: Ranked 21st globally.
In the World Junior Girls category:
- Melika Mohammadi: Ranked 14th with a rating of 2342.
- Sara Davari: Ranked 38th with a rating of 2250.
