WANA (Aug 30) – Israeli prosecutors on Sunday filed an indictment against two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, from the northern city of Kiryat Motzkin near Haifa, charging them with carrying out intelligence-gathering and recruitment tasks for an operative linked to Iranian intelligence.

 

According to the indictment submitted to the Haifa Juvenile District Court, the two teens acted jointly in exchange for financial compensation. Their assigned tasks reportedly included photographing sensitive sites, painting graffiti, and attempting to recruit other youths for similar assignments.

 

Court documents detail that in June, one of the teens established contact via a Telegram job-search group with an individual using the alias “Daniel,” who offered paid assignments.

 

The suspect subsequently took photos of various locations across Israel, including shopping centers in Herzliya and Tel Aviv. During one assignment, the teen allegedly provided detailed intelligence to the operative, including photographs, entry and exit counts, and security personnel numbers at a commercial facility.

 

Prosecutors also allege that the pair actively sought to recruit other teens to expand the operation.

 

The indictments follow a related arrest last month involving an Israeli ambulance driver charged with spying for Iran after allegedly photographing a senior Israeli official during a visit to a medical center in northern Israel.
