WANA (Apr 20) – Hebrew media reported that two individuals have been arrested in south Tel Aviv on suspicion of spying for Iran.

 

These arrests follow reports regarding the detention of Israeli military personnel on charges of cooperating with Iranian parties.

 

Israel’s Channel 12 television, citing informed sources, reported that two people were arrested in south Tel Aviv on suspicion of espionage for Iran.

 

The Israeli newspaper wrote that two Israelis, aged 19 and 21, residents of Ness Ziona and Beit Oved, were arrested on charges of spying for the Iranian intelligence apparatus. According to this report, one of them was preparing to travel to an Arab country to undergo training courses.

 

This report is published while on Saturday, Israel’s Channel 7 announced that the Shin Bet (Shabak) and the Israeli police are investigating a network suspected of including soldiers who were operating for Iranian parties.

 

According to this report, the Shin Bet suspects that these military personnel leaked information regarding the locations of systems, bases, and sensitive weapons, and also gathered information about high-ranking government officials.

 

This agency also emphasized that two Israeli Air Force personnel have been in detention for about a month on suspicion of contact with foreign parties.

 

At the same time, Hebrew media are reporting the continuation of investigations into the possibility of Iranian intelligence infiltration among some Israeli military personnel and civilians.
