Two Terrorist Attacks Reported in Iran
WANA (Dec 16) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Quds Base announced that four people were killed in an armed clash near a checkpoint at the entrance to Fahraj County on the Zahedan–Fahraj road.
According to a statement released by the Quds Base public relations office, the incident occurred in the early hours of December 16, when armed elements engaged security forces at the checkpoint.
As a result of the clash, three law enforcement personnel and one civilian were killed. The statement added that security and law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident.
According to some reports, at the same time as the Fahraj attack in Kerman province, another terrorist attack was reported in Iranshahr, located in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province.
In the early hours of this morning, the occupants of Peugeot Pars and Peugeot 405 vehicles engaged with law enforcement officers in one of the streets of Iranshahr with the intent to attack. They were met with a rapid response and immediately fled the scene.
The armed assailants are under pursuit by the police, and no injuries were reported among the officers during the incident in Iranshahr.
