WANA (May 08) – The Governor of Minab has reported a U.S. military attack on a civilian cargo vessel in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz and the Makran Sea, resulting in multiple casualties.

 

Mohammad Radmehr, the Special Governor of Minab County, stated in an interview that U.S. forces targeted a non-military vessel during last night’s aggressive maneuvers in southern Iranian waters.

 

“During the aggressive actions taken by the Americans last night in the area of the Strait of Hormuz and the Makran Sea, a cargo dhow near the waters of Minab was struck and caught fire,” Radmehr said.

 

The Governor added that according to preliminary data, 15 sailors were on board the vessel at the time of the attack. Out of these:

  • 10 individuals were injured and have been transported to medical centers for treatment.
  • 5 individuals were initially reported missing, prompting an immediate search and rescue operation.

 

In a recent update, Radmehr confirmed the grim outcome of the search efforts. According to the latest reports, the body of one of the missing individuals has been recovered, confirming his death. Efforts by local volunteer groups and search teams to find the remaining four missing persons are still ongoing.
