WANA (Jun 10) – As reports of explosions emerged from several locations in southern Iran, a senior U.S. official claimed that the second and third waves of American military strikes against targets in Iran are currently underway.

 

According to international media reports, the official told Axios and Israel’s Channel 12 that the second wave of attacks had begun and was targeting Iran’s air defense and radar systems. The official further claimed that a third wave of operations was also in progress.

 

The statements came as local sources reported hearing multiple explosions across various parts of Hormozgan Province. Reports indicated that explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas, Jask, Qeshm, Sirik, and several other locations in southern Iran.

 

In Jask County, residents and local sources reported a series of explosions during the early hours of the morning. According to those reports, this marked the second round of explosions heard since dawn. Earlier reports had already indicated attacks on Jask Port and the Kouh-e Mobarak area.

 

Additional reports emerged from Bandar Abbas, where residents said several powerful explosions were heard at approximately 3:23 a.m. local time. Authorities have not yet released detailed information regarding the exact locations of the blasts or any potential damage.

 

On Qeshm Island, residents also reported hearing multiple explosions during the early morning hours. At the same time, reports suggested that air defense systems had been activated in several areas of Hormozgan Province, including Bandar Abbas, Jask, and Qeshm.

 

Meanwhile, some Iranian media outlets reported that two water storage tanks in Sirik were struck during an attack, resulting in water supply disruptions in parts of the area.

 

Earlier, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that it had launched strikes against several locations in southern Iran in response to the downing of an Apache helicopter. However, no further official details have been released regarding the full scope of the attacks or the extent of any resulting damage. Investigations and official inquiries into the nature of the reported explosions remain ongoing.
