WANA (Jul 17) – The U.S. military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) has claimed that its forces boarded the deck of the oil tanker Wan Yao in the Gulf of Oman and carried out an inspection, releasing a video of the operation.

 

According to CENTCOM’s statement, the action was conducted as part of the maritime restrictions imposed by the United States against Iran. The command also claimed that U.S. forces have so far redirected three commercial vessels that were allegedly attempting to violate the restrictions.

 

CENTCOM further stated that it had disabled one vessel due to what it described as “defiance of orders” and inspected another ship to ensure full compliance with the ongoing U.S. maritime blockade against Iran.

 

The claims were made by CENTCOM, and no independent details regarding the status of the Wan Yao tanker or responses from the parties involved have been reported so far.
