U.S.-Israeli Strike Targets Civilian Meteorological Facility in Bushehr
WANA (Apr 01) – Authorities in Bushehr reported that a U.S.-Israeli attack has struck key meteorological infrastructure in the province, causing significant damage to civilian facilities.
Ehsan Jahaniyan, Deputy for Political, Security, and Social Affairs at the Bushehr Governor’s Office, stated that on Tuesday afternoon, American and Israeli forces targeted the province’s weather radar installations in what he described as a “deliberate attack” on non-military infrastructure.
According to the official, the strike hit the main meteorological radar site—considered a critical monitoring hub in the Persian Gulf—as well as Building No. 2 of the provincial Meteorological Organization. The attack reportedly caused extensive damage, rendering both the radar system and the administrative facility inoperable.
Jahaniyan said the incident reflects what he described as a broader effort to undermine Iran’s technical, scientific, and service infrastructure.
He emphasized that the targeted facility was purely civilian in nature, providing essential services related to maritime operations, aviation, agriculture, and fisheries across the province, the country, and the wider Persian Gulf region.
