U.S.-Israeli Strike Targets Tabriz Petrochemical Facility; Situation Under Control
WANA (Mar 30) – A petrochemical facility in Tabriz, northwestern Iran, was targeted in an early morning airstrike by U.S. and Israeli forces, according to local authorities.
The head of crisis management in East Azerbaijan Province stated that one of the units at the Tabriz Petrochemical Complex was hit, but emphasized that the situation was quickly brought under control.
Emergency and operational teams were deployed immediately, and no hazardous, toxic, or polluting materials were released. Authorities urged the public not to be concerned.
In a separate statement, the Tabriz Petrochemical Company confirmed that parts of its industrial facilities were struck in the early hours of the day.
It added that safety, firefighting, and emergency response teams responded promptly, containing the fire and stabilizing the situation.
Engineers are currently assessing the technical impact and the extent of the damage.
