WANA (Jul 30) – The U.S. military carried out a series of overnight strikes on multiple locations across Iran early Thursday, with official reports indicating that targets in the provinces of Hormozgan, Khuzestan, and Bushehr were attacked. Reports also emerged of strikes in Fars, Kerman, East Azerbaijan, and West Azerbaijan provinces, but local authorities did not confirm those claims.

 

In Hormozgan Province, an area near Qeshm Island was struck at around 4:00 a.m. According to the province’s deputy governor for political affairs, a residential house in the Chah Tangu neighborhood of Qeshm was hit by a missile, prompting search and rescue operations. Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences said the attack killed a father, mother, and their two-year-old child, while two other children, aged seven and nine, were injured and taken to hospital.

 

Qeshm’s Health Center confirmed that two injured people had been transferred to medical facilities. Power outages affected parts of the island for a short time following the strike but were quickly restored, according to local officials.

 

On Kish Island, two loud explosions were heard at 3:32 a.m. The Kish Free Zone Organization said no urban or residential areas were damaged and that airport operations and passenger ferry services continued without disruption. Similar explosion sounds were also reported in Bandar Abbas, Abu Musa Island, and waters near Qeshm and the Strait of Hormuz, with authorities saying the exact cause was still under investigation.

 

In Khuzestan Province, the deputy governor for security affairs reported missile strikes on areas near Abadan, Shadegan, Arvand Kenar, and Ahvaz. Local reports said electricity was temporarily cut in parts of Ahvaz, including the Golestan and Padad districts, following the attacks.

 

In Bushehr Province, explosions were reported at around 4:00 a.m. Officials have not yet released details about the exact locations targeted or the extent of any damage.

 

Reports also indicated that an area near the city of Kazerun in Fars Province was attacked, although no further official information on casualties or damage has been released. Meanwhile, local authorities denied reports of any attack or explosion in Sirik County.
