WANA (Jun 09) – A U.S. Army AH-64 Apache attack helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, but both crew members survived the incident and were safely evacuated.

 

According to a report by The New York Times, the military helicopter went down in an area close to the strategic waterway. The newspaper did not specify the cause of the crash, noting only that an investigation is underway to determine what happened.

 

The incident occurred amid ongoing regional tensions and continued U.S. military activities in and around the Gulf region.

 

The report identified the aircraft as an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter and stated that both crew members were transported to safety following the crash.

 

U.S. President Donald Trump also commented on the incident. Speaking to reporters near Air Force One in New York, he said, “We will release a report on this tomorrow. The pilots are doing well.”
