WANA (Jul 23) – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces completed a twelfth consecutive night of military strikes against targets in Iran at 10:30 PM Eastern Time on July 22.

 

According to a statement released by the military command, the latest round of operations targeted Iranian military capabilities, including naval assets, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense systems.

 

CENTCOM stated that the strikes were intended to degrade Iran’s ability to target civilian mariners and commercial vessels in regional waters.

 

The U.S. military further claimed that its forces have struck dozens of Iranian military targets on land over the past month, while simultaneously enforcing a naval blockade around Iranian ports.

 

Additionally, CENTCOM reported that over 50,000 U.S. military personnel across the Middle East remain on high alert. The command stated that American forces have so far diverted the routes of nine commercial vessels and prevented at least one ship from entering or leaving an Iranian port.
