U.S. Should Appreciate Iran’s Proposed Plan
WANA (Jun 09) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the upcoming Board of Governors meeting and the confrontational approach taken toward Iran, stressed that confrontation will not be met with further cooperation. He also advised U.S. officials to appreciate Iran’s proposed initiative.
At his Monday press conference, Esmail Baghaei commented on the painful developments unfolding in the occupied territories and Gaza, saying: “Unfortunately, we continue to witness the silence and inaction of international organizations in the face of these atrocities.”
He criticized the U.S. for vetoing a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid, stating: “In recent days alone, 150 innocent people have been killed in the region, and the humanitarian crisis continues.”

Attack on the ‘Madeleine’ is Maritime Piracy
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson condemned the attack on the Madeleine ship, which was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza and operated by human rights activists.
“This attack constitutes maritime piracy. It was a deliberate move to block humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza and continues the crimes committed by the Zionist regime,” he said.
Confrontation Will Not Lead to More Cooperation
Addressing a question about the likelihood of a resolution being passed against Iran in the upcoming IAEA Board of Governors meeting and the confrontational approach taken by the Agency and the Board, Baghaei reiterated: “Confrontation will not be met with greater cooperation.”
He emphasized, “Unfortunately, the Agency has been operating under political pressure and influence from the U.S. and Europe. Iran has developed a range of responses and actions. The other side is more or less aware of our capabilities, and based on future developments—and in coordination with the Atomic Energy Organization and other relevant bodies—we will take a spectrum of operational steps.”
If a Resolution Is Issued, Iran’s Level of Cooperation Will Change
WANA (Jun 09) – On Sunday evening, June 8, on the eve of the quarterly meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Behrouz Kamalvandi, Deputy Director and Spokesperson of the Atomic Energy Organization, spoke on the “Special News Dialogue” program regarding the latest developments in the nuclear industry, the actions […]
Next Round of Indirect Talks with the U.S.
In response to a question about the next round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S., Baghaei said: “There is currently nothing specific to report. Once a decision is made, the public will be informed accordingly.”
Iran’s Nuclear Activities Are Peaceful
Responding to another question about recent statements made by several Iranian MPs regarding the country’s nuclear activities, Baghaei said: “In a country where individuals and the media express various views, it’s not unusual to hear different opinions. What is clear, however, is that Iran’s nuclear activities are peaceful. We have repeatedly conveyed this through official channels.”
He added: “Even if we take the IAEA’s latest report as a basis, it does not accuse Iran of non-compliance or deviation from peaceful objectives. Although the report is deeply flawed, politically motivated, and designed to create excuses, it nevertheless emphasizes the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.”

Iran’s Proposal Is Reasonable, Balanced, and Logical
Commenting on Iran’s proposed plan, Baghaei said: “The U.S. proposal does not reflect the outcome of the five rounds of indirect talks between Iran and the U.S. We have conveyed our proposal through Oman.”
He continued: “Iran’s proposed plan is reasonable, balanced, and logical. We advise U.S. officials to recognize its value and use it as a basis for moving forward.”
Firm in Pursuing Iranian Rights and Lifting Sanctions
Asked about reports that the U.S. proposal contains no clear provisions regarding the lifting of sanctions, Baghaei said: “We have always emphasized—in both our media positions and negotiations—the importance of lifting the oppressive sanctions against Iran. This remains our primary demand in the talks. As for why the American proposal omits this point, that’s a question for them. But as I’ve said, we are resolute in defending the rights of the Iranian people and in seeking the removal of sanctions.”
Revealing Israeli Strategic Intelligence Will Continue
In response to reports that Iran has obtained sensitive strategic information about the Israeli regime, including nuclear activities, Baghaei said: “Our intelligence agencies have already commented on the volume and nature of the information acquired. I believe this process of disclosure will continue.”
Asked how this might affect bilateral relations between Iran and Israel, he stated: “We do not recognize the Zionist regime; we consider it an occupying force.”
Iran’s Intelligence Service Obtains Sensitive Israeli Nuclear Files
WANA (Jun 07) – In what has been described by regional sources as one of the most significant intelligence breaches in Israeli history, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s intelligence apparatus has reportedly gained access to a vast collection of sensitive and strategic documents belonging to the Israeli regime, including thousands of files related to its […]
Leaked Documents Show Israeli Influence in Negotiations
Regarding how these revelations could impact future negotiations, Baghaei said: “It has long been evident—and now clearer with these documents—that certain European countries have actively assisted the Israeli regime’s military nuclear program. This is significant. The very countries that criticize Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities and claim to champion non-proliferation are themselves complicit in arming Israel.”
He added: “These documents demonstrate the Zionist regime’s active efforts to impose its views on our negotiating counterparts. We have said this many times before, and now there is proof to back our position.”
Iranian Nationals in Los Angeles Should Avoid Risk Areas
Addressing reports of violent police crackdowns on protesters in Los Angeles, Baghaei stated: “We recommend that the rights of migrants and those protesting U.S. policies be respected. Police violence is unacceptable.”
He urged Iranian nationals in the area, where the Iranian population is considerable, to avoid locations where there is a risk of violence.
We Are Monitoring U.S. Domestic Politics
When asked about recent developments in U.S. domestic politics—including the public dispute between Donald Trump and Elon Musk—Baghaei concluded: “Like any other country, we are observing and monitoring developments in U.S. internal politics.”
We Will Not Put the Country’s Plans on Hold Waiting for Talks with Others
In response to a question about what steps Iran would take if negotiations fail, Baghaei said: “We will continue our work. We will not put the country’s plans on hold waiting for talks with this or that party.”

Frequent Shifts in U.S. Positions Are a Serious Problem in the Diplomatic Process
Addressing another question about the frequent shifts in the U.S. stance during the negotiations, Baghaei stated: “As we have previously said, the constant changes in the positions and views of the other side are a serious problem in the diplomatic process. The other side must resolve this issue.”
President to Visit China
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirmed that the President of Iran plans to visit China, stating: “Iran and China enjoy a longstanding and historical friendship. The President’s visit, in and of itself, reflects the importance we place on expanding relations with China in all areas—economic, political, cultural, and commercial.”
He added that details and timing of the visit would be announced by the President’s office.

Reports on Enrichment Reduction Meant to Shape Public Narrative
Responding to questions about Western media reports suggesting Iran may reduce uranium enrichment to 3% or proposing specific times and locations for the next round of U.S.-Iran talks, the spokesperson said: “These are mostly speculative and aimed at shaping the atmosphere. They do not warrant any official comment.”
Invitation Extended to Russian President to Visit Tehran
In response to reports about a potential visit by the Russian President and Russia’s possible role in Iran-U.S. negotiations, Baghaei noted: “Visits by foreign leaders to each other’s capitals are not new. There was some misinformation regarding President Putin’s visit to Iran, which our embassy in Moscow later corrected.”
He continued: “Consultations between senior Iranian and Russian officials—like with any friendly country—are a regular part of our diplomatic agenda. An invitation has indeed been sent for the Russian President to visit Tehran. This is standard diplomatic practice, and both sides will consult on the timing and agenda of the visit.”
Europe Still Beating the Drum of Confrontation and Non-Cooperation
Regarding the efforts of the E3 (France, Germany, UK) to pass a resolution against Iran at the IAEA Board of Governors, Baghaei remarked: “A confrontational approach by the three European countries will not encourage cooperation. From the outset of indirect talks between Iran and the U.S., we have expressed our readiness to engage with the Europeans, and such talks did take place.”
He added: “The sidelining of the European parties from the diplomatic process—something that occurred for reasons unrelated to our preferences—should not be used as a pretext for taking destructive positions. The draft resolution, expected to be voted on at the IAEA this week and prepared in coordination with the U.S., will have consequences, for which all parties must take responsibility. Unfortunately, Europe continues to beat the drum of confrontation, and it should expect reciprocal and proportionate actions from the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Iran Warns of NPT Withdrawal if Western Powers Trigger Snapback
WANA (Jun 09) – The senior Iranian lawmaker has warned that if Western countries push for the activation of the snapback mechanism against Iran, the Parliament will move to pass legislation mandating the country’s withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, made […]
Selection Process for UN General Assembly President Is Politically Significant
Regarding the election of former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock as President of the UN General Assembly, the spokesperson said: “Her election came through a vote, whereas such positions are usually filled by consensus. This in itself is significant.”
He continued: “Some countries opposed her selection due to her stance in support of genocide and the Zionist regime. While we respect the General Assembly’s decision, we expect the elected president to act in line with the UN Charter and promote peace and security. Her performance will certainly be under observation.”
IAEA Report Is Politically Motivated
When asked about IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi’s recent warnings of potential war over Iran’s nuclear program and comments regarding Israeli attacks, the spokesperson said: “The recent IAEA report was based on a politically motivated resolution pushed by the U.S. and E3. The report serves their political aims and omits key facts about the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.”
He added: “There’s no mention of non-compliance or deviation toward weaponization. The report revives old allegations—previously resolved under the JCPOA—based on forged documents provided by the Zionist regime and political views of the resolution sponsors.”

Grossi Should Be a Messenger of Peace, Not a Source of Tension
On Grossi’s frequent interviews about Iran’s nuclear program, the spokesperson stated: “His statements go beyond his technical mandate. He should take a firm stand against threats to Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to IAEA Resolution 533, any threat to a peaceful nuclear program is a threat to peace itself. As someone heading an international body—and rumored to be eyeing higher posts—Grossi should promote peace, not echo inflammatory rhetoric aligned with others’ threats.”
Araghchi’s Visit to Lebanon Part of Regional Consultations
Responding to a question about whether Araghchi’s recent visit to Lebanon included agreements on resuming direct flights, the spokesperson said: “His visit was bilateral and part of ongoing regional consultations. Various topics were discussed with senior Lebanese officials, and we hope the talks will lead to greater mutual understanding and continued friendly relations between Iran and Lebanon.”
Snapback Mechanism Should Not Be Exaggerated
Addressing concerns that Europe’s resolution at the IAEA might pave the way for triggering the snapback mechanism against Iran, the spokesperson said: “The snapback mechanism should not be overblown. Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful, and there’s no legal basis to keep it on the UN Security Council’s agenda after October 2025. Any move contrary to this would be politically motivated. If they want to use excuses to bring the issue to the Security Council, they can do so without such mechanisms—as they did in 2006.”
