WANA (Jul 18) – A series of U.S. missile strikes in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province early on July 18 targeted electricity infrastructure and desalination pumps at the Bonji village pier in Jask County, disrupting drinking water supplies to several villages in the region.

 

Ahmad Nafisi, Hormozgan Province’s Deputy Governor for Political, Security and Social Affairs, said the U.S. attacks struck power facilities and desalination pumps located at the Bonji pier. He added that emergency response and operational teams were immediately deployed to the site, and authorities have begun assessing the extent of the damage.

 

According to Nafisi, the strikes caused a disruption in drinking water supplies to several villages in western Jask County. Efforts are currently underway to restore the area’s water network and stabilize essential services as quickly as possible.

 

The provincial official described the attack on civilian infrastructure as a violation of international law and said local authorities are working to fully restore water services for affected residents at the earliest opportunity.
