WANA (Sep 12) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who has traveled to New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Summit, met with Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, on Saturday afternoon.
A senior Iranian official described the meeting between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as having taken place in a “calm and constructive” atmosphere.
The bilateral encounter occurred on Saturday on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. Responding to an inquiry regarding the specifics of the exchange, the senior Iranian official confirmed that the discussions between the two leaderships were conducted in a peaceful and forward-looking manner.
Characterizing the high-level meeting as “calm and constructive” carries significant diplomatic weight, particularly as the United Arab Emirates has aligned with the United States over the past seven months. The engagement sends a clear signal of Tehran’s ongoing strategy to actively manage regional tensions and preserve open channels of communication.
The diplomatic outreach highlights that even amidst broader regional conflict and political disagreements, the Islamic Republic of Iran maintains a policy of keeping diplomatic doors open to foster understanding and peaceful coexistence with its neighboring states.
