WANA (Aug 31) – The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates has rejected claims made by the Iranian Armed Forces regarding a strike on Al Minhad Air Base south of Dubai, calling reports of a missile strike inaccurate.

 

In a statement released on Monday, the UAE Ministry of Defence stated that a drone attack had occurred earlier in the morning. According to the ministry, UAE air defense forces successfully intercepted the incoming unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the country’s territorial waters. The ministry did not disclose further details regarding the targets or potential casualties and damage.

 

The official response follows an earlier announcement by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran claiming it had launched dozens of kamikaze drones against Al Minhad Air Base.

 

Unconfirmed reports floating in local media had indicated that the strike targeted areas housing U.S. military personnel and helicopter units stationed at the installation.

 

Al Minhad Air Base serves as a vital logistics, air transport, and support hub for allied foreign military operations in the region.
