UAE Denies Claims of Transferring Financial Resources to Iran
WANA (Jun 13) – The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected reports concerning the transfer of financial resources to Iran, stating that no transfer or release of Iranian assets has occurred through the UAE and describing the published reports as lacking credible basis.
The UAE officially denied claims circulated by certain international media outlets regarding the transfer or movement of funds to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that the allegations—including a report concerning the transfer of $3 billion—are completely inaccurate and are not based on any facts or verifiable information.
According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the statement emphasized that no unfreezing, transfer, or movement of blocked Iranian assets has taken place via the UAE.
The ministry also urged media outlets to exercise greater accuracy when reporting on this matter, to source information exclusively from official channels, and to refrain from republishing unverified news and unsubstantiated claims.
This statement follows a report by a news agency which, citing four sources, claimed that the UAE had agreed to release $10 billion of Iranian assets. According to those alleged reports, over $3 billion of that amount had already been made available to Iran.
Previously, Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian diplomatic apparatus, stated: “Iran’s frozen assets are a component of any agreement. The negotiation process regarding this is ongoing, and Iran will tolerate no compromise on this matter.”
