UK Sanctions 12 Alleged Iran-Linked Individuals and Entities
WANA (May 11) – The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on 12 individuals and entities allegedly linked to Iran, in what Tehran views as another hostile move by London against the Islamic Republic.
According to international media reports, British authorities claimed the sanctioned individuals and organizations were involved in activities such as security threats and providing financial services to groups allegedly seeking to destabilize the UK and other countries. However, no concrete evidence has been publicly presented to support these accusations.
British officials said the sanctions were introduced as part of efforts to counter what they called “malign activities.” Iran, however, has repeatedly denied any involvement in alleged attacks or plots cited by Western countries.
Political analysts believe the latest sanctions are in line with the broader Western strategy of political and economic pressure on Tehran, a policy critics say has often relied on repeated allegations without substantiated proof.
