WANA (Jul 15) – The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) announced on Wednesday that it has summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires in London, Ali Nasimfar, over allegations concerning the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Quds Force.

 

According to an official statement signed by Hamish Falconer, MP and FCDO Minister, the UK government alleges that the IRGC’s Quds Force directed a group known as the “Yaran-e-Haq Islamic Movement” to carry out a series of planned attacks across Europe between March and May.

 

“The activities of the IRGC are an attempt to undermine the security and safety of the UK and our allies,” an FCDO spokesperson said in a statement. “Despite repeated warnings, Iran’s intelligence services have not ceased their hostile activities; instead, Iran has sought to escalate its malign behavior, which is completely unacceptable.”

 

The FCDO statement also highlighted recent measures taken by the British government against Tehran, including “subjecting the IRGC to new counter-state threats authorities” as part of ongoing efforts to hold the Iranian government accountable.

 

“We make it absolutely clear that we will take all necessary measures to protect the British public. State-sponsored threats will not be tolerated,” the spokesperson added.

 

Tehran Rejects Allegations

The diplomatic move by London comes amid firm denials from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

Tehran has consistently rejected any involvement in the internal affairs of other nations or directing groups to conduct armed operations on European soil.

 

Iranian officials have repeatedly dismissed such claims as part of a systematic “Iranophobia” campaign and baseless accusations leveled by Western nations against the country.
