WANA (May 03) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported an incident occurring 11 nautical miles west of Sirik within Iranian territorial waters.

 

According to the report, the captain of a north-bound bulk carrier reported that the vessel was “attacked.” The report further confirmed that:

 

  • All crew members are reported safe.
  • No environmental impact has been declared.

 

Since the imposition of the U.S. blockade and the violation of the ceasefire, Iran has intensified transit restrictions through the Strait of Hormuz. Currently, vessels and craft are only permitted to transit with Iranian authorization.
