WANA (Aug 18) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced that it has received a report of an incident involving a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

On Tuesday, the organization stated that the company’s security officer reported the ship was hit by an unidentified missile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

 

UKMTO added that the strike caused damage to the engine room and resulted in crew casualties. The Omani Coast Guard is currently assisting the remaining crew members.

 

The agency further stated that no environmental damage has been reported. Authorities are investigating the incident, and vessels in the area are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.
