Ulyanov Calls Iran’s CFT Accession Law a Responsible Move
WANA (Oct 20) – Russia’s senior diplomat Mikhail Ulyanov has praised Iran’s action in formally notifying the accession of the country to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), describing it as a responsible approach to highly sensitive issues.
Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, shared his remarks on X (formerly Twitter), welcoming the move by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, in transmitting the CFT accession law.
He noted that even after the brutal aggression by the United States and Israel, Iran continues to demonstrate a highly responsible stance on critical matters.
On Saturday, October 18, Ghalibaf officially sent a letter to Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, notifying him of the law on Iran’s accession to the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, in accordance with Article 123 of the Iranian Constitution.
Previously, on October 01, the Expediency Discernment Council had approved Iran’s conditional accession to the CFT convention.
