WANA (Jul 29) – A meeting titled “Commitment to International Law and the UN Charter for Ensuring International Peace and Security” is currently underway on the sidelines of the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

 

This UN Charter for Ensuring International Peace and Security session has been organized at the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the participation of representatives from various countries.

 

The meeting addresses key topics such as the principles of the UN Charter, opposition to double standards, and an emphasis on the national sovereignty of nations.

Parliamentary representatives from Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, and China are attending the session, which is being held in Geneva, at the United Nations headquarters, at Iran’s invitation.

 

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, is also delivering a speech at the event.

 

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf Left Tehran yesterday to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

 

The Iranian parliamentary delegation’s trip to Geneva is held every five years in collaboration with the United Nations.
