WANA (Mar 12) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson reacted to the resolution proposed by Bahrain and the United States at the United Nations Security Council, which was adopted last night.

He wrote: The Council should have clearly and unequivocally condemned the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran. Instead, it condemned Iran. The sponsors of this resolution deliberately ignored the obvious reality that Iran is defending itself against a blatant and unprovoked act of aggression by two bullying regimes—one of which is itself a permanent member of the Council.

No country should provide any form of assistance to the illegal war being waged by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran. This ongoing aggression against Iran would not have been possible without the use of U.S. military bases and assets stationed in the territories of Persian Gulf countries.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has no intention of violating the sovereignty or territorial integrity of its neighbors and has exercised maximum restraint so far. Iran’s armed forces remain fully committed to observing international humanitarian law, select their targets with the utmost precision and caution, and strike only military bases, facilities, and assets used by the aggressors to conduct their illegal war against the Iranian nation.
