UN Secretary-General Holds Phone Call with Iranian FM
WANA (Jul 03) – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres held a telephone conversation on Thursday evening with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss regional and international developments.
During the call, Guterres once again expressed his condolences over the death of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, referred to by Iran as the “martyred Leader” of the Islamic Revolution, and conveyed his sympathy to the Iranian government and people.
The two sides also reviewed the latest regional and international developments, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the implementation of the agreement ending what Iran describes as Israeli military aggression against Lebanon, developments following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, and the latest progress in the ongoing negotiations.
