Unidentified Projectile Hits Cargo Vessel in Strait of Hormuz
WANA (May 05) – A British maritime monitoring center has reported a new incident in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway that remains a focal point for global energy markets and maritime security.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced that it had received a report of a maritime incident in the area just minutes earlier. Based on initial information, a confirmed source stated that a cargo vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz was struck by an “unidentified projectile.”
No further details have been released regarding the type of projectile, the extent of the damage, or the condition of the crew. The incident is currently under investigation.
The report comes as the same center had documented three separate confrontations in the Strait of Hormuz just a day earlier.
