Unprecedented Record in Power Plant Fuel Storage in Iran
WANA (Oct 12) – The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) has announced a new record in power plant fuel storage and a significant reduction in diesel consumption across the country.
Karamat Veiskarami, CEO of NIOPDC, stated during a coordination meeting of the company’s public relations departments regarding winter fuel supply: “Over the past six months, through the implementation of consumption management programs, daily diesel consumption has decreased by more than three million liters.”
He added: “As we approach the cold season, more than 3.2 billion liters of diesel have been stored in the country’s power plants — setting a new record in the field of power plant fuel storage.”
Emphasizing the need for continued cooperation among all relevant organizations in fuel management, Veiskarami said: “The development of distribution and storage infrastructure within NIOPDC is progressing rapidly. This progress will play a crucial role in ensuring the stable supply of energy during the winter months.”
Veiskarami also highlighted the company’s performance under crisis conditions: “During the 12-day imposed war, our colleagues managed to achieve a record daily distribution of over 200 million liters of gasoline, even amid the enemy’s relentless bombardments of oil depots.”
During the same meeting, Majid Boujarzadeh, Director General of Public Relations at the Ministry of Petroleum, praised NIOPDC’s operational role: “This summer, around 12.5 billion liters of gasoline were produced, loaded, and distributed nationwide through more than 15,000 tankers and pipeline networks, which is a remarkable figure.”
He added: “These numbers reflect the vast scale and tireless efforts of NIOPDC employees — people who, during the peak of Nowruz travels, wartime conditions, and the final busy weeks of September, worked around the clock to maintain uninterrupted fuel supply across the country.”
