WANA (May 18) – The United States has agreed to waive oil sanctions against Iran during the negotiation period in its latest proposed text, marking a shift from its previous positions, according to Iranian media reports.

A source close to the Iranian negotiating team confirmed that the U.S. proposal includes a temporary waiver of oil sanctions. While Iran demands the permanent lifting of all sanctions as a U.S. commitment, Washington has proposed an OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) waiver effective only until a final agreement is reached.

This development follows reports that Iran has submitted a revised 14-point draft to the U.S. via a Pakistani intermediary. The submission is part of an ongoing exchange of messages, following a recent U.S. response to an earlier Iranian draft.

Sources state that Iran’s updated text focuses heavily on war-ending negotiations and confidence-building measures required from the American side.
