US and Israel Will Be Held Accountable for Assassinations of Iranian Officials
WANA (Apr 16) – Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Iran is determined to hold the United States and Israel accountable for the assassination of Iranian officials.
In a recent interview, Baghaei emphasized the necessity of legal and international recourse regarding the targeted killings of Iranian figures during the ongoing regional conflict.
“We must pursue this, and I believe it is not only Iran’s demand, but that of the entire international community,” he remarked.
The spokesperson characterized the actions taken by the U.S. and Israel as “crimes against international peace and security, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.”
He further noted that under the Geneva Conventions, all nations are obligated to respect and ensure respect for international humanitarian law.
Baghaei argued that since the actions of the United States and Israel violate these fundamental principles, “all UN member states should demand their accountability.”
“For Iran, this will remain a persistent demand from all Iranians,” he concluded. “We will utilize our entire domestic system and international legal frameworks to ensure accountability for the horrific crimes committed against the Iranian people.”
