US Military Launches New Wave of Airstrikes Across Iran
WANA (Jul 23) – The U.S. Military Central Command (CENTCOM) announced early this morning that it has carried out a new series of strikes inside Iranian territory.
Meanwhile, reports of explosions and missile strikes emerged from several regions in southern and southwestern Iran including Hormozgan, Khuzestan, and Bushehr provinces:
Khuzestan Province: Provincial security officials confirmed missile strikes near the cities of Ahvaz and Andimeshk. Additionally, residents in Bandar Mahshahr reported hearing multiple loud explosions along the city’s outskirts around 12:42 AM local time.
Furthermore, the Deputy Governor for Security and Law Enforcement in Khuzestan reported a U.S. missile strike near the passenger terminal at the Shalamcheh border crossing, targeting an Iranian police rest facility according to Iraqi media sources.
While travel for pilgrims initially continued without disruption, provincial officials later confirmed that two people were killed and 11 others were injured in the attack on the Shalamcheh border.
Hormozgan Province: Multiple explosions were reported in the Bamani district and near the village of Ziarat in Sirik County.
Bushehr Province: Strikes were also reported in the coastal city of Bushehr. Mohammad Mozaffari, the Governor of Bushehr, stated that emergency and security teams were immediately deployed to evaluate the site, adding that the situation remains under control and public services continue uninterrupted.
