WANA (Jul 08) – Local officials confirmed on Wednesday morning that several military and coastal sites in the southern Iranian provinces of Bushehr and Khuzestan were struck by American projectiles overnight, leaving at least one person dead and others wounded.

 

Ehsan Jahanian, the Political and Security Deputy Governor of Bushehr Province, told reporters that two locations within the province were hit in the early hours of the morning by what he described as “American-Zionist” projectiles.

 

“A military outpost in Dashti County was hit by an enemy projectile early this morning,” Jahanian said. “Additionally, another military installation near the town of Choghadak in Bushehr County was struck.” He noted that there have been no immediate reports of deaths or injuries resulting from the strikes in Bushehr Province.

 

According to a related report, Iranian air defense systems successfully intercepted and shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone in the vicinity of Khormuj in Bushehr Province during the dawn hours.

Casualties in Khuzestan Province

Meanwhile, in neighboring Khuzestan Province, authorities reported casualties following strikes on three distinct locations.

 

Valiollah Hayati, the Security and Law Enforcement Deputy Governor of Khuzestan, confirmed to media outlets that American projectiles targeted areas in Bandar Mahshahr, Bandar Imam Khomeini, and Hamidieh.

 

“Regrettably, one person was martyred and two others were injured as a result of this aggressive assault,” Hayati stated.

 

The deputy governor added that further details regarding material damage and potential additional casualties would be released to the public following a thorough investigation. He urged citizens to avoid speculation and to rely strictly on official state media channels for updates.

 

Bandar Abbas Airport Denies Damage, Cancels Flights

Amid reports of strikes along the southern coastline, the Directorate General of Hormozgan Airports issued a statement explicitly denying rumors that Bandar Abbas International Airport was damaged. The authority clarified that no infrastructure or airport equipment sustained any harm.

 

The directorate noted that while the airport maintains full operational readiness, a Wednesday morning Kish Air flight bound for Mashhad was canceled in compliance with flight safety protocols and national airspace management directives.
