WANA (Jan 03) – Vahid Shamsaei, head coach of Iran’s national futsal team, has been nominated for the title of World’s Best Futsal Coach, according to the specialized website Futsal Planet, which has announced its annual shortlist for the best figures in global futsal at the end of the 2025 calendar year.

 

According to the announcement, Iran’s national futsal team has also been shortlisted in the Best National Team category, where it will compete against Brazil, Argentina, and Poland—teams that have all delivered notable performances on the international stage over the past year.

 

Iranian representatives are present in several individual categories as well. National team goalkeeper Bagher Mohammadi has been nominated for Best Goalkeeper of the Year, while team captain Hossein Tayebi is among the contenders for Best Men’s Player in the World.

 

In the coaching category, Shamsaei will compete with his counterparts from Brazil and Argentina for the top honor, a nomination that reflects Iran’s continued status as one of the leading powers in world futsal and highlights the team’s influence on the sport over the past year.
