WANA (Aug 17) – Ali Akbar Velayati, senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has stated that American households are bearing the immediate economic brunt of decisions made by US leadership, pointing to internal political critiques regarding inflation and the cost of living in the United States.

 

Referencing domestic US economic discussions, Velayati remarked on statements by American political figures: “Scott Bessent speaks of economic sanctions against Iran, Trump boasts about naval blockades, yet Senator Cornyn talks about high prices and the cost of living for the American people.”

 

Reflecting on historical relations between the two nations, Velayati noted that decades after the 1953 coup, the dynamics of the region have shifted significantly.

 

“Seventy-three years later, a clear reality has emerged: regional equations have changed, and today, the American family is paying cash for the gambles of its leaders,” he stated.
