WANA (Apr 19) – Ali Akbar Velayati, senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has declared an end to Western dominance over regional waterways, asserting that security is now managed by local powers and their strategic allies.

Regional Waterways Under New Control

In a series of statements posted on X (formerly Twitter), Velayati emphasized a shift in the global balance of power.

“The era of imposing security from across the oceans has come to an end,” Velayati stated. He noted that security in the Strait of Hormuz and Malacca is now guaranteed through the “authority of Iran and its strategic partners.”

He further added that the security of Bab al-Mandab is firmly “in the hands of the brothers of Ansarullah.”

Velayati issued a warning, stating: “Every act of mischief will meet a chain-reaction response.”

Critique of the Paris Summit

Addressing the recent diplomatic meetings in Europe, Velayati dismissed the efforts of Western nations as a “ridiculous show.”

“In the ridiculous show of the Paris meeting, if England and France are truly concerned about the security of shipping, they should think of a solution for the English Channel and the healing of the old wound in Gibraltar,” he wrote.

Praise for Spain’s Position

In contrast to his criticism of London and Paris, the senior official expressed appreciation for Spain’s diplomatic stance. “We are grateful for the independent and wise positions of Madrid,” Velayati concluded.
