WANA (Oct 09) – Ali Akbar Velayati, Senior Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran on International Affairs, reacted to the ceasefire in Gaza, suggesting that it could mark the end of a truce in other regions.

In a post on the social media platform X, Velayati wrote:

“The beginning of the ceasefire in Gaza may mean the end of a ceasefire somewhere else!
Iraq – Yemen – Lebanon”

According to Israel’s Channel 12, the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip took effect at noon today (local time) following the signing of an agreement. Cairo News also reported that the deal to end the war has been finalized.

Earlier, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced in a statement that an agreement had been reached to end the war with the Zionist regime.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday night (local time), following negotiations between Hamas and Israel in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt:

“I am proud to announce that both Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan. This means all hostages will soon be released, and Israel, as a first step toward a strong, lasting, and permanent peace, will withdraw its forces to an agreed-upon line. All parties will be treated fairly.”
