WANA (Aug 23) – The Persian Gulf Waterway Management Authority announced that vessels cooperating with ships that violate Iranian regulations governing transit through the Strait of Hormuz will themselves be added to the list of non-compliant vessels.

 

The authority said some vessels have violated the arrangements established by Iran for transit through the Strait of Hormuz and warned that they could face restrictions during future passages, including fines, detention or confiscation.

 

According to the notice, cargo owners shipping to or from the Persian Gulf are advised to check the updated list of non-compliant vessels before chartering a vessel in order to avoid potential problems.

 

The authority also warned that vessels that, from this date onward, cooperate with ships on the list through ship-to-ship transfers, transshipment or other forms of cooperation will themselves be added to the list.

 

Vessels seeking to have their names removed from the list may submit a request along with an explanation to the Persian Gulf Waterway Management Authority.
