WANA (Jul 18) – In a message addressed to the Iranian people, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed appreciation for the massive public turnout at the funeral procession of the “Martyr of Iran,”(Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) describing it as an “unprecedented and historic epic.” At the same time, he said that the United States’ violation of the signed agreement once again demonstrated the “worthlessness and lack of credibility of the U.S. president’s signature.”

According to the message, published by the Leader’s official media outlet, the millions who participated in the funeral procession demonstrated the Iranian nation’s loyalty, insight, and Islamic-Iranian identity, earning the admiration of friends and leaving its adversaries astonished and angered.

Referring to what he described as the United States’ repeated breaches of its commitments, the Leader stated that these actions once again proved “how worthless and unreliable the U.S. president’s signature is.” He added that coercion, hegemonic ambitions, and brutality are inseparable characteristics of U.S. policy. According to the statement, the United States has once again revealed its true face, and recent events provide further evidence that it cannot be trusted.

In another part of the message, the Supreme Leader stressed the importance of preserving national unity and cohesion under the current circumstances, describing them as among the country’s most fundamental requirements for achieving the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and safeguarding Iran’s dignity and independence.

He urged both the public and officials to avoid division, political discord, and the amplification of social and political differences, emphasizing that the responsibility of officials and those devoted to the Revolution in maintaining national unity is now greater than ever.

The Supreme Leader also reiterated the importance of maintaining confidence in the officials of all three branches of government. He noted that constructive criticism of government performance, when offered fairly and without undermining national unity, can contribute to progress. However, he warned that such criticism should not result in injustice, weaken social cohesion, or project an image of weakness to the country’s adversaries.

Concluding the message, the Supreme Leader thanked the Iranian people for their participation in the funeral procession, as well as senior religious authorities, scholars, intellectuals, cultural, social, and political figures, state and military institutions, and representatives of the Resistance Front and Islamic movements.

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

To the great and remarkable nation of Iran,

Peace, blessings, and gratitude be upon you. Through your unprecedented and historic display during the extraordinary funeral procession of the Martyr of Iran, you set a new standard in expressing gratitude, loyalty, insight, and profound affection for the leader of the Islamic Ummah and the martyred leader of the Revolution. The heartfelt emotions, tearful eyes, and steadfast determination of the tens of millions who gathered across Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, and countless other cities and villages inspired the friends of the Iranian nation and freedom-loving people around the world, while leaving the arrogant enemies of Iran bewildered, frustrated, enraged, and fearful.

At the same time, the repeated violations by the Great Satan of the agreement signed between the presidents of Iran and the United States have once again proven to all that the signature of the U.S. president is of no value and lacks credibility. Bullying, domination, and brutality are inseparable elements of the American way of conduct. Today, the Great Satan has once again revealed its true face without disguise, providing yet another clear example of America’s deceit, bad faith, irrationality, unreliability, and moral corruption. If the American enemy seeks to escalate conflict at the cost of greater losses and deeper disgrace, it should know that the Iranian nation and the Resistance Front have unforgettable lessons in store for it, as demonstrated in recent days by the courage of the fighters of Islam and the bravery of the people of Iran’s southern regions.

I wish to remind the loyal and proud people of Iran that one of the most essential priorities at this critical juncture is preserving unity and sacred solidarity among the people and officials at every level and in every arena. Such unity is indispensable for realizing the lofty ideals of the Islamic Revolution and safeguarding the dignity and independence of our beloved Iran, particularly in confronting the criminal and deceitful American enemy. As has been repeatedly emphasized before, protecting national unity, avoiding division and conflict, and refraining from magnifying political disagreements and social differences are responsibilities shared by all. The role of government officials and those sincerely devoted to the Revolution, Imam Khomeini, and the martyred Leader in preserving national cohesion is especially vital and sensitive.

Accordingly, the Iranian nation, while maintaining confidence in the dedicated officials serving in all three branches of government—whose efforts to improve the welfare and prosperity of the people are evident—will continue to remain vigilant and active in safeguarding the interests of the Islamic Republic. Some individuals, motivated by sincerity and goodwill, may have criticisms of certain officials’ performance. In my view, their concern for the Islamic system is itself a valuable asset and, in principle, a positive matter. Nevertheless, particularly those who are recognized for their insight and leadership should ensure that such criticism does not lead to injustice against the innocent, which would deprive society of divine blessings, nor undermine national unity and social cohesion. When these principles are observed, criticism can become a source of progress and prosperity. The enemy must not perceive any sign of weakness from us. If we remain fully committed to these principles, it will ultimately be forced into retreat.

Once again, I sincerely thank every one of our dear people, who, despite hardships, limitations, and difficulties, created a historic epic through their participation in the magnificent funeral procession of the Martyr of Iran.

I also extend my gratitude to the esteemed religious authorities, scholars, intellectuals, cultural, social, and political activists, the country’s civilian and military institutions, and the officials and representatives of the proud Resistance Front and distinguished Islamic movements. I pray that all those who participated in this historic event in any capacity may be blessed with God’s special favor and the prayers of our Master, Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).
