WANA (May 18) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a large-scale missile strike on Tel Aviv during the 61st wave of Operation “True Promise 4,” describing it as retaliation for the killing of Dr. Ali Larijani and his companions.

The force said in a statement issued on Wednesday that Tel Aviv was targeted in the “61st wave” of the operation using multiple-warhead Khorramshahr-4 missiles, as well as Ghadr, Emad, and Kheibar Shekan missile systems. The operation was carried out under the code name “Ya Aba Abdillah al-Hussein.”

The IRGC stated that Khorramshahr-4 and Ghadr missiles struck more than 100 military and security targets in what it described as Israeli-controlled territory, adding that the strikes were conducted rapidly and with high intensity. It claimed that the missiles penetrated Israel’s multi-layered air defense systems without interception.

The statement further reported that, based on field information following the strikes, parts of Tel Aviv experienced power outages, complicating emergency response efforts. Initial estimates put casualties at more than 230 killed and injured, according to the IRGC.
