WANA (Mar 27) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it carried out a joint missile and drone operation targeting the Al-Kharj base, resulting in the destruction of part of the U.S. military’s aerial refueling and logistical support fleet.

According to a statement released by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office, the operation was conducted as part of Wave 84 of “True Promise 4,” with the participation of the IRGC Aerospace Force and support from the IRGC Navy.

The statement said that air defense systems at the base were targeted, paving the way for solid- and liquid-fueled missiles to strike logistical facilities and support equipment.

The IRGC stated that several large aerial refueling aircraft and logistical assets were destroyed or severely damaged in the attack. It added that the operation was carried out in response to what it described as hostile U.S. use of regional military bases.

The statement further emphasized the continuation of operations against “centers of threat” in the region, as well as the full readiness of IRGC forces deployed in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz to defend Iran’s positions.

As part of Wave 84 of Operation “True Promise 4,” the IRGC Public Relations Office announced the execution of the second phase of the operation on Friday evening. According to the report, the IRGC Navy carried out a surprise combined missile and drone strike targeting a gathering point of U.S. forces on Bubiyan Island.

The attack, conducted using various loitering drones and ballistic missiles, reportedly resulted in a number of U.S. casualties, with the wounded transferred to several hospitals in Kuwait.

The IRGC Public Relations Office also emphasized the continuation of such operations, stating that attacks against U.S. forces in the region will persist until the declared objectives are achieved.
