We Will Be Neither Surprised Nor Passive
WANA (Aug 02) – Acting Iranian Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Seyed Majid Ebnolreza said Iran would treat every threat seriously and continue strengthening its military preparedness, responding to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump about stepping back from a proposed ground attack on Iran.
In a post on X, Ebnolreza said that while the latest statements by the United States were made as part of “psychological and cognitive warfare,” Iran considers every threat to be real and credible.
“We will be neither surprised nor passive,” he wrote. “We use every threat as a basis for increasing our readiness, strengthening our deterrence, and enhancing Iran’s defense capabilities.”
His remarks came after Trump said he had agreed to cancel a planned ground attack on Iran, prompting reactions from Iranian officials.
