We will not let this go unpunished
WANA (Jan 22) – Reaction of the newspaper affiliated with the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the announcement of the number of martyrs and fatalities in the recent incidents: “We will not let this go unpunished.”
The newspaper Sedaye Iran wrote: “Foreign architects of the unrest and their domestic agents have stained their hands with the blood of thousands of Iranians.”
Prior to 8 January, the situation had been managed in a peaceful atmosphere by trade unions, the public, and government and law-enforcement officials alike.
It was so peaceful that even on the first night of urban terrorism, on Thursday night, 8 January, law-enforcement forces and security personnel were not even given orders to confront the situation. This, in turn, has resulted in more than 75 percent of the reported 3,117 fatalities being classified as martyrs—either members of the security forces or ordinary citizens who fell victim to the blind terrorism carried out by foreign-linked mercenaries.
The primary criminals and defendants in this sinister plot are those who, from the public platforms of international conferences, openly and proudly speak of their ignorant and diabolical schemes and boast about them—true embodiments of modern barbarism. These ‘modern ignoramuses,’ their vile crimes, and their domestic agents, whose hands are soaked up to the elbows in this bloodshed, will not be left unpunished.
