We’ll Emerge Stronger from the 12-Day War
WANA (Jul 21) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi emphasized on Monday that “by learning from the 12-day war and addressing our weaknesses, we will become a significantly stronger Islamic Republic.”
Speaking about the recent conflict, Araghchi said, “Thanks to the prudence and wisdom of the Supreme Leader and the collective efforts of officials across the board, the country was able to manage the war, retaliate against enemy actions, and ultimately force the adversary to request a ceasefire without any preconditions.”
He reiterated, “By learning from the 12-day war and correcting our vulnerabilities, we will emerge a far more resilient and powerful Islamic Republic.”
Addressing domestic diplomatic efforts, the Foreign Minister stated, “As I mentioned during my confirmation hearing, our provinces—especially border provinces—can play a vital role in successful diplomacy.”
Araghchi noted that international conferences are being planned across different corners of the country, saying, “The first conference was held in Shiraz. The second one was scheduled to take place in Mashhad but was postponed due to the 12-day war. We are now making arrangements to hold them in the coming days.”
Highlighting the regional focus of Iran’s foreign policy, he said, “Our top priority is our neighboring countries. They possess capacities that can help us resolve many of our challenges entirely.”
The senior Iranian diplomat concluded by stressing, “The Foreign Ministry fully supports provincial initiatives in advancing diplomacy.”
