WANA (Nov 10) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that Western nations will eventually have no choice but to acknowledge Iran as a country possessing an advanced nuclear industry.

Speaking during a visit to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) on Monday, Araghchi said Iran’s nuclear achievements are a source of national pride and the result of years of dedication and sacrifice by Iranian scientists.

Responding to a question about Western attempts to portray Iran’s broad nuclear activities in fields such as industry, healthcare, and agriculture as being aimed at developing nuclear weapons, Araghchi said:

“Their problem is not really with nuclear weapons; their main issue lies with the scientific progress achieved by our country. Iran, through its scientists and experts, has succeeded in mastering a complex and sensitive field of science that has wide applications in medicine, industry, agriculture, and the environment. They wish to maintain this monopoly for themselves, and that is why they have made nuclear weapons an excuse.”

He pointed out that Iran has been engaged in dialogue and negotiations for over 20 years. “If we had intended to produce nuclear weapons, we could have done so by now, as we have the necessary capabilities,” he said. “But we have consistently demonstrated that our nuclear program is peaceful. Whenever needed, we have built trust and cooperated with international organizations, including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). It is now clear that their accusations are merely pretexts.”

“Their main objective,” Araghchi continued, “is to prevent Iran from achieving these capabilities and to keep all technological advancement under their monopoly. This technology is highly sophisticated and represents a major scientific achievement for Iranian scientists—an achievement no one can ignore or deny.”

He further underlined that Iran’s progress in the nuclear field has come through great effort and sacrifice. “Our scientists have worked tirelessly and made great sacrifices for this industry. Blood has been shed for these advancements, and we have fought to preserve it,” he said.

“It is clear that no one in Iran will ever renounce this right or its implementation. The Foreign Ministry stands firmly beside the Atomic Energy Organization in defending the rights of the Iranian people. These rights must be protected and upheld,” he added.

He emphasized that Western countries “ultimately have no alternative but to accept Iran as a scientific hub in the field of peaceful nuclear technology.”

He stated that Iran’s nuclear industry has now grown into a vast and rapidly advancing field, adding that contrary to the perception that it is limited to uranium enrichment, the industry encompasses a wide range of activities that affect people’s lives.

“The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran is engaged in numerous projects related to medicine, healthcare, the environment, agriculture, and industry,” he said.

Araghchi stressed that nuclear technology plays a role in almost every sector and contributes significantly to the development of various fields, accelerating the pace of scientific growth in the country. “This technology has greatly benefited different industries and aspects of people’s daily lives,” he noted.

Meanwhile, AEOI chief Mohammad Eslami underscored the wide-ranging benefits of nuclear technology in people’s daily lives.

“Through various means of communication, we aim to show how nuclear achievements contribute to public welfare, particularly in healthcare and food security,” he said. “As people witness these outcomes, they gain confidence that this is an industry of life, growth, and prosperity.

Araghchi, accompanied by several deputy ministers and senior officials, visited the exhibition of new nuclear achievements, the Fakhrizadeh Research Reactor (Tehran), and radio-pharmaceutical laboratories, where he was briefed on the latest developments in Iran’s industrial, medical, and research activities.
