Which Vessels Will Participate in Iran-Russia Naval Exercise?
WANA (Feb 18) – Tomorrow, Iran and Russia will hold a joint naval exercise in the northern Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, featuring a diverse fleet from both countries. The exercise aims to strengthen maritime cooperation and operational coordination between their naval forces.
Iranian vessels taking part include the Alvand destroyer, fast attack boats Rib and Raad, missile boats Khanjar and Neyzeh from the Iranian Navy, as well as Shahid Sayyad Shirazi, Tondar-class ships, and operational fast boats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy. From Russia, the helicopter carrier Stoyisky will join the exercise.
The drill provides an opportunity to demonstrate the combat capabilities and operational coordination of both countries’ naval forces in the strategically sensitive waters of the northern Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
