White House Spokesperson’s Claim About the Ownership of Two Ships Seized by Iran is False
WANA (Apr 23) – Follow-up investigations into the two ships seized on Wednesday in the Persian Gulf reveal that the ship “MSC-FRANCESCA” belongs to the Israeli regime, while the ship “EPAMINODES” is Greek-owned but operated by companies linked to Israeli interests.
Both ships are owned by a company registered in Central Europe with ties to Israeli interests. On Wednesday afternoon, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized the two ships and transferred them to Iranian territorial waters. Earlier, the U.S. Navy, violating a ceasefire, had seized an Iranian container ship and an oil tanker in the Arabian Sea and the northern Indian Ocean.
White House spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, claimed in a Fox News interview on Wednesday evening that the seizure of the two ships by Iran does not violate the ceasefire, as they are neither American nor Israeli, a statement that contradicts the findings from the investigations.
