Who Are Iran–U.S. Negotiators in Islamabad?
WANA (Apr 08) – Senior negotiators from Iran and the United States have been identified ahead of planned talks set to take place on Friday in Islamabad.
According to reports, Iran and the United States agreed late Tuesday and early Wednesday—through mediation by Pakistan—on a two-week ceasefire beginning at 03:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Under the agreement, delegations from both sides are expected to begin negotiations in Islamabad based on Iran’s proposed 10-point framework.
Some of the sources say the Iranian delegation will be led by Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, while the U.S. team will be headed by Vice President JD Vance. (The WANA News Agency cannot independently confirm or deny this report.)
The reported 10-point proposal is said to cover not only Iran’s nuclear program and regional security issues but also primary and secondary sanctions imposed on Iran over the past four decades.
