World Cup Boost: FIFA Raises Club Rewards by 70%
WANA (Sep 17) – The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) announced today (Wednesday) a significant increase in financial rewards for football clubs that release their players to national teams during the 2026 World Cup.
FIFA will distribute a record \$355 million in bonuses to clubs with national team players participating in the tournament. This amount represents a 70% increase compared to the \$209 million paid out during the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Under this new system, clubs with the highest number of national team players in the World Cup squads will receive the largest share of the rewards.
According to FIFA’s official website, for the first time, clubs will also receive payments during the World Cup qualification stages, not just during the main tournament.
The substantial sum will be distributed among 441 football clubs worldwide and 51 football federations, marking a new milestone in supporting clubs that contribute players to their national teams.
This development is expected to provide significant financial benefits to Iranian clubs as well as football clubs around the globe.
