WANA (Oct 10) – Mani Saeidi claimed Iran’s second gold medal in the junior division of the World Para Powerlifting Championships.

On the second day of the 11th edition of the championships, Saeidi, representing Iran in the 88 kg category, competed against his international rivals.

He successfully lifted 166 kg in his first attempt, improved to 172 kg in his second lift, and narrowly missed 173 kg in his final attempt. Despite that, his performance was enough to secure the gold medal and the world championship title.

Earlier, Atiyeh Sadat Hosseini, another young Iranian athlete, had won gold in the 61 kg category, giving Iran its first medal of the tournament.
